Nick Black is Memphis’ newest Soul artist stepping out onto the music scene, and he’s doing it with a style that will force you to take notice. Take his modern soul voice, fold in his soulful horn and string arrangements, add an infusion of hip-hop and old school rhythm & blues, and you’ve got a sound that demands attention.
Nick will be releasing his sophomore album DEEP BLUE in 2015. DEEP BLUE is a heartfelt journey through love, loss, and the pursuit of love again. This ten-song album is written, arranged, and performed by Nick Black with the careful touch of up-and-coming Memphis producer and engineer James Bennett. Mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Brad Blackwood, co-produced by award-winning artist Victor Wainwright, and performed by Nick’s ace band of Memphis’ best young musicians, this album fully represents what the Bluff City has to offer to the rest of the world in this new era of music: something old, something new, and something just a little deep blue.
