Singer-songwriter Doctor Fish performs songs from his Renaissance Records debut, The Last Troubadour. Vents Magazine has called it “one of the best albums we’ve heard in ages.” 

No fake retro act, Fish is one of the last authentic performers of a folk-rock style that blossomed in the 1970s with artists like James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce, and Harry Chapin. 

Dr. Timothy Holley, WNCU associate professor and host of 90.7’s The Midday Jazz Adjustment, will join Doctor Fish and his band on cello for several songs from the album.

The evening will also feature the Catawba Alumni All Stars, a band made up of top alums from the degree program for popular musicians Fish founded at Catawba College in Salisbury, NC.

The All Stars include award-winning gospel performer Dennis Reed, Nashville session musicians Silas Boyle and RJ Thornton, and Durham’s own bass phenomenon Greg Moore. Jake Martin will lead the group.

Current Catawba College music student Bailey Hunter will open the show with original music.
