Honkytonk and rockabilly. Great music that will get you moving and tapping your toes.
Michelle has singin’ almost as long as she’s been walking. She experienced a great mix of music on the radio in the Detroit area, on TV …through the 60s and 70s, and from listening to albums with friends. (that’s right- 33rpm) Picked up guitar right after high school. Played folk rock and then oldtime. In the 80s she started singing some blues and formed the Revelators around blues and swing from the 50s and 60s. Started getting into honkytonk and rockabliiy in the 90s and formed the Mystery Hillbillies as a trio with Steve Howell and FJ Ventri. It was reformed in 2004 with Mark “Buddy Ro” Harrison, Chip “Memphis” Click and Calvin Johnson.
The Mystery Hillbillies have grown into a great collection of musicians who join me in a mostly trio format to play across NC and in Michigan. www.mysteryhillbillies.com
