Celebration of NC Songwriting: Another inspired group of talent expertly assembled by Kirk Ridge.
Four celebrated songwriters gather for a night of original music and the stories behind the songs.
Nancy Middleton, one of North Carolina’s iconic songwriters, gained national recognition with her album “The Way I Do”. After a successful move to Nashville, she returned home to Durham to continue her career as one of the most popular performers in the area. www.nancymiddletonmusic.com
Kirk Ridge has had songs featured on NPR’s Car Talk and Celtic Roots Radio. His lyrics have been published in American Songwriter Magazine, and he is performance director for Durham CenterFest. Kirk co-hosts the weekly “Pass The Hat” radio show on WHUP and produces songwriters’ events statewide. www.kirkridgemusic.com
Bob Vasile’s musical roots are in British Isles traditional music. He was the founding member, with Jane Peppler, of the North Carolina group the Pratie Heads (1980-1989). Bob and Jane currently perform with Jack Herrick of the Red Clay Ramblers in a British Isles/Americana trio called Duck Duck Goose. www.bobvasile.com
Jack Herrick is a long time member of the Red Clay Ramblers. Author, composer, and lyricist he has written for numerous off-Broadway and regional theater productions, including Playmakers Repertory Company.
