May 10, 2019  ·  Friday * 9pm * NO Cover

The Doug Prescott Band is an eight-piece Roots Rock ensemble from Chapel Hill, NC. The band plays original songs with influences from Little Feat to The Neville Brothers, and from The Eagles to Bob Marley. They also play covers by Los Lobos, Delbert McClinton, Van Morrison, and Little Feat to name a few. Jordan Lawrence from the Independent Weekly compares Doug Prescott to the exploits of the rich and excessive Bruce Wayne as he dons the cape and mask to crush thugs as Batman, only Prescott throws on colorful leisure shirts and jeans to attack his foes.

The Doug Prescott Band has produced six studio albums and one live album over the last 15 years. Nationally known rockers Paul Barrere, Bill Payne, Jessie Winchester, Craig Fuller, and Will McFarlane have made guest appearances on a number of their CDs.

Their latest studio endeavor, One World, was recorded in 8 studios on 3 continents to raise money to benefit the people of Kiribati, an island located in the South Pacific. This island nation is imperiled by rising sea levels, and it’s people face the prospect of becoming the world’s first climate change refugees.
